During that period (2016 is the last year for which complete data are available), foundations donated almost $1 billion to advocacy groups committed in whole or in part to presenting inaccurate information about agricultural biotechnology. We focused on the years 2012-2016, when anti- GMO advocacy was most intense as campaigning groups promoted bans of transgenic crops and lobbied for strict labeling. In a commitment to transparency, we’ve mined a trove of data to help the public understand the funding network that supports the anti-biotechnology industry.
